Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at wendy@adhdexecutivefunctioning.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

ADHD and Executive Function Coaching is a personalized, strengths-based process that helps individuals develop the skills and strategies they need to thrive in daily life. Whether it’s improving time management, organization, emotional regulation, or task completion, coaching provides practical tools and compassionate accountability to support growth and independence.

Coaching focuses on what’s happening right now and how to move forward with practical strategies. Unlike therapy, coaching doesn’t diagnose or process trauma. And unlike tutoring, coaching doesn’t teach academic content—instead, I focus on the skills behind learning and functioning, like planning, prioritizing, and emotional regulation.

No, I do not provide a formal diagnosis. However, I can help you understand ADHD symptoms and executive function challenges, and I offer support for families navigating the diagnostic or treatment process. If you need an evaluation, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted professional.

I focus on core executive function skills, including:

  • Time management and planning

  • Organization and task initiation

  • Emotional regulation and impulse control

  • Goal-setting and follow-through

  • Working memory and self-monitoring

  • Routines, transitions, and independence

Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the need and goals. Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and can be held in person or virtually. A customized coaching plan is developed based on each client’s needs and progress.

Absolutely. Parent involvement is often key to success—especially with younger clients. I offer separate parent coaching sessions, strategy updates, and tools to create consistent support at home without overwhelm or conflict.

While I do not bill insurance directly, many clients use their HSA or FSA accounts to pay for coaching. I can provide receipts and session documentation if needed. Check with your plan provider for details.

Start by reaching out through my contact form or calling to schedule a free discovery call. We’ll talk about your needs, goals, and whether coaching is a good fit. From there, we’ll create a personalized plan to support you or your child
